We help people succeed through speaking
Speaking has the power to change careers, grow businesses, and open doors to opportunities most people never access. But for many capable, intelligent people, speaking feels like the thing that holds them back.
Not because they lack ideas.
Not because they lack expertise.
But because fear, self-doubt, and unclear messaging get in the way.
Succeed Through Speaking exists to change that, and we do this through the power of two businesses combined.Â
The real problem most people face
Most people believe their speaking problem is either confidence or slides.
In reality, it is both.
A lack of confidence makes people hesitate to speak.
Unclear messaging and weak visuals make them feel even less confident.
And so the cycle continues.
Fear feeds confusion.
Confusion feeds fear.
We help break that cycle.
Our Belief
Confidence and credibility are not personality traits. They are skills.
Confidence comes from competence. Credibility comes from clarity.
And both can be trained.
How we help people succeed through speaking
We work on the two things that matter most.
We train the speaker
Through Succeed Through Speaking, we help entrepreneurs, experts, coaches, consultants, and professionals build real speaking confidence through structured practice.
This is not about hype, performance tricks, or “just be confident” advice.
It is about:
- Staying calm under pressure
- Thinking clearly while speaking
- Replacing avoidance with repetition
- Building confidence through action, not overthinking
The result is a speaker who trusts themselves.
We strengthen the message
Through The Speaker Design Studio, we equip speakers with professional slides and visual frameworks that support their delivery and help their ideas land.
We design:
- Clear, professional slide decks
- Visual frameworks that simplify complex ideas
- Slides that support persuasion, not distract from it
The result is a message that feels credible, clear, and easy to follow.
Why this approach works
Confidence without clarity falls flat.
Clarity without confidence feels hesitant.
When the speaker is trained and the message is clear, results compound.
People speak more often.
They show up with confidence.
Their ideas land.
And opportunities follow.
That is how people succeed through speaking.
About Tom Bailey
From avoiding speaking to building a life around it
For the first 25 years of my life, I became extremely good at avoiding public speaking.
I avoided putting my hand up.
I avoided introductions.
I avoided presentations.
And I definitely avoided being the centre of attention.
On the outside, it did not always look obvious.
But underneath, fear and social anxiety quietly shaped my choices.
Like many people, I assumed confident speakers were born that way.
What I got wrong
When I finally decided I had to do something about my fear of speaking, I thought the answer would be:
-
reading books about public speaking
-
changing how I sounded
-
learning scripts and techniques
-
attending conferences and watching confident speakers from the back of the room
None of that worked.
What actually changed everything was far simpler and far harder.
I started speaking in front of other people.
Not perfectly.
Not confidently.
But consistently.
What I learned
Confidence does not come from thinking about speaking.
It comes from doing it.
Calm is not something you wait for.
It is something you train.
Once I stopped trying to “fix” myself and started building competence through repetition, everything changed.
Speaking stopped being a threat.
It became a tool.
Why I do this work now
I have experienced first-hand how life-limiting fear around speaking can be.
And I have also experienced how much changes when that fear no longer runs the show.
Today, I help entrepreneurs, experts, coaches, and consultants use speaking to:
-
raise their profile
-
communicate with clarity
-
build credibility
-
attract new clients and opportunities
Through Succeed Through Speaking, I train the speaker.
Through The Speaker Design Studio, I strengthen the message.
Together, this work helps people show up confidently and be taken seriously when they do.
A simple way to describe my work
I help people stop avoiding speaking
and start using it to grow.
